Course in modular fly larvae treatment: rearing and composting

Under this one-day course the course delegates will be presented with a general introduction to fly larvae treatment, including both the fly rearing and composting steps. We will present the theory behind the different steps of the module based fly larvae treatment and practical exercises on handling of larvae, pupae and flies.  The course will be given in English.

Theory

  • Process efficiency of fly larvae composting
  • The life cycle of the BSF in relation to mass rearing
  • Process technical aspects of fly larvae composting

Practical exercisers

  • Composting start-up
  • Separation larvae/treatment residue
  • Count and enumaration of mini-larvae
  • Handling of pupae
  • Handling of flies

Registration and cancellation:

Last day of registration is 7/3-2018. The course fee will be invoiced upon completion of the course. Register by email to: cecilia.lalander@slu.se. Include invoice address to the registration mail. For cancellations later than 7/3, 50% of the fee will be charged.
