Valborg!

Two years ago, I was in Uppsala for Valborg, and now I’ll go to the Lund edition…what is Valborg? I’m not exactly sure why or how it all started, but I know some of the traditions: You start with a pancake and champagne breakfast, and the you head to the river (Uppsala) to watch the boats floating down the river. They’re all home made and usually don’t make it past the little waterfall. In Lund, we’ll head to stadsparken for some BBQ action. Magically, the weather always co-operates and it’s typically the first day of the year with everyone in shorts and summer dresses. In the afternoon, you’ll want to find somewhere to swim. In Lund, head to the beach. Otherwise, gather with your friends and enjoy all the chaos and activities. The evening is usually tame because people start the festivities so early. But there will usually be parties at the Nations? Be safe, and have fun!

About Christian

Hej! The nitty gritty: I'm 26 years old, from Canada. I went to school in Vancouver, on the West Coast, and there are two main reasons I studied there (I'm originally from Ottawa, the capital). First off, I study forestry, and Vancouver has a great school for that. The second is that there are so many outdoor activities close by to Vancouver, and everyone living there is interested in them. I like snowboarding, hiking, camping, surfing, sailing, rock climbing, etc. and all of this is possible close to Vancouver. I also like living in bigger cities with life and activities close by. Really it was perfect match. I also like traveling, which is why I've found myself in Sweden. I love being able to hop on a train and be in a different country in 2 hours!
